Taste Kenya Exporters Ltd(TKEL)was founded in 2008 and later incorporated in the year 2014. The company is in the business of growing of fresh herbs for domestic and international markets. The company has its own production site – 11 acres. The farm is located approximately 50 minutes drive from Jomo Kenyatta international airport.
Their product range
Basil, Thyme, Rosemary, Sage, Oregano, Melissa, Lovage,Dill, Corriander, Terragon, Marjoram, Chillies, German Chamomile, Flat Parsley, Curled Parsley. 60% of their production volume is grown under the sun while 40% is indoor cultivation.
Their herbs Safety & Traceability Commitment
At Taste Kenya Exporters, food safety is everyone’s responsibility. That real Taste of their herbs can only be established through safe production and post-harvest handling. They reckon On the thorny issue of maximum residue level facing many producers around the world, they have devised various cultural and biological methods of diseases and pest control thus enabling the company to significantly reduce and manage spray programs effectively. All the herbs exported in their signatures boxes are from their own production only.
They believe in sustainability. The sustainability of the environment is at the core of their business. They have adopted one acre in the dry Kajiado county where they are doing their production and have identified the suitable trees to plant for the area. Their outdoor crops are grown on plastic mulch to help save up on water usage.
They have a small team of dedicated staff, most of them have been in the business long before the company was incorporated into a limited company.
They all work passionately and tirelessly to produce the quality of herbs their customers have come to expect and ultimately love.
